Reports show that the victim, a 39-year-old woman, left her 2022 Porsche SUV running on 15th Street and Union Square East. Jones allegedly took advantage of the situation at around 3:00 P.M. on Friday, December 12th. He hopped in the car and took off.

Little did the suspect know that the victim had a car tracking app on her cell phone. When she alerted police to the situation, they quickly located the suspect.

The authorities approached Jones and tried to initiate a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, Jones attempted to flee. Officers followed the suspect for about two miles. While speeding off, he struck three vehicles: a 2019 Audi Sedan, a 2016 Audi SUV, and a 2024 Cadillac SUV. The high-impact collision caused the Porsche to flip over. The crash occurred around 50th and Lexington in Midtown, Manhattan.

Jones was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The Cadillac was carrying three people: a 39-year-old woman, a 30-year-old male, and a 56-year-old male. None of these individuals was injured. Fortunately, the other vehicles were empty when they were struck.

Jones is facing multiple charges, including reckless endangerment, grand larceny auto, criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, reckless driving, driving without a license, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Jones has reportedly been arrested twice before, both times on assault charges.

Grand Theft Auto in New York

Grand theft auto charges in New York are taken very seriously. Since grand theft auto is considered larceny, the penalties for a conviction depend on the vehicle’s value and the person’s criminal history.

In general, all grand theft auto charges are levied as felonies. Stealing a car that’s worth $100-$3,000 could result in prison time of up to four years, and taking a car that’s worth $3,000-$50,000 could result in up to seven years in jail. Stealing a vehicle that’s valued at $50,000 is a Class C felony that could result in up to 15 years in prison.

A felony conviction will lead to penalties that extend beyond a prison sentence.

For one, the released inmate will likely need to serve out a period of probation before being completely released from the correctional justice system. Additionally, a felony conviction will result in the loss of the right to possess a firearm, vote, or hold public office.

If you’ve been accused of committing a felony in New York, then it’s important to hire a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Here at the Bukh Law Firm, our team is prepared to fight for you.

According to reports, the football player was enjoying a meal with two other Gang Green players at Sei Less, an Asian-fusion restaurant. Patrons of this restaurant confirmed that there are often several celebrities who visit the eatery, so it wasn’t too out of the ordinary that Boyd and other football players chose the spot.

Unfortunately, sources say that Boyd could feel that the “vibe” inside Sei Less was “off.” One of the main things making Boyd and his friends feel uncomfortable was that several other large groups inside the eatery were verbally arguing with each other. Due to the uncomfortable situation, Boyd and his friends decided to leave.

Upon exiting the building, Boyd and his friends became engulfed by a giant crowd. The streets were packed, and suddenly, two gunshots rang out. It remains unclear whether Boyd was the shooter’s intended target or not, but he was critically wounded in the attack.

Investigators later obtained security footage of the incident. The video clearly shows a vehicle with Michigan plates rushing out of a parking garage and then slamming into a barrier. That’s when a passenger inside of the vehicle started opening fire on the crowd. A second car also followed the first vehicle through the barrier before both cars fled.

One thing that has had an impact on the investigation is Sei Less’s unwillingness to cooperate with police. The restaurant has been unwilling to share security footage with the authorities, but they also have good reason for not doing so. Since so many high-profile individuals often eat at the restaurant, it’s Sei Less’s duty to ensure that their privacy remains a priority.

While the gunshot wound left Boyd in critical condition, he is regaining stability. Boyd was already on the Jets’ injured reserve after getting a shoulder injury pre-season, so it’s unlikely that this recent incident will impact future games.

Discharging a Firearm in Public in NYC

Anyone who frequents the streets of New York City knows how crowded it can quickly get, even at 2 A.M. on a Sunday. That said, it’s always dangerous (and a crime) to discharge a firearm in public, unless it’s for self-defense purposes. Discharging a firearm in public can be levied as either a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the circumstances.

A misdemeanor charge, which is typically used when no injuries happen and no one is endangered, will result in a sentence of up to one year in jail and fines of up to $1,000.

Willfully discharging a firearm at a vehicle, object, or area that puts another person at risk is a serious felony. This crime is punishable by up to seven years in prison and fines of up to $5,000.

When injuries occur, the situation can escalate even further. That said, it’s always best to hire a lawyer if you find yourself charged with a firearms-related crime. Schedule a free call with our legal team now by leaving your contact details on our online form.

These snapshots showed Combs in an orange prison beanie and a navy blue jacket. One thing that shocked the public was how Combs now has a full face of gray hair, revealing how the stress of his trial and prison life has really impacted him.

Combs was sentenced to serve four years and two months behind bars after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. On top of his prison sentence, he was also ordered to pay a fine of $500,000 to the court. Another important aspect of his sentence is his involuntary participation in programs that are designed to address substance abuse issues and mental health concerns.

The sentence for Combs is extremely lenient, and the deal has drawn a lot of criticism from the public. Despite that, he continues to draw sympathy and compassion from the media, former friends, and acquaintances. Charlucci Finney, a long-time friend of the rapper, for instance, recently spoke with journalists and conveyed Diddy’s jail stories.

He told the media that the rapper once woke up “with a knife to his throat,” while he was at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Fox News also recently published a story highlighting how Combs was served a burger and cheese pizza behind bars for his birthday dinner.

Surprisingly, Combs was allowed to celebrate because he was served a cake made by his fellow inmates.

As of now, Diddy will remain incarcerated until at least May of 2028.

How Did Diddy Get Such a Light Sentence?

While that release date might seem far off, the sentence Diddy received is light compared to the charges he was being accused of committing. One of the main reasons that Combs was able to secure such a light sentence was that he was acquitted of many of his most serious charges, like sex trafficking and racketeering. A jury of Combs’ peers found him not guilty of everything other than the two charges related to transportation to engage in prostitution.

Congresswoman Greene has been outspoken about her desire to expose the Epstein sex trafficking ring, and she isn’t afraid to use her political position to do so.

She’s been pushing for the passage of House Resolution 581, which would release all the Epstein files to the public. Over 200 democrats signed the passage of this bill, but only four Republicans (including Greene) supported it. The other Republicans who supported the bill were Representative Lauren Boebert, Representative Nancy Mace, and Representative Massie. Other notable females to support the bill includes Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Nancy Pelosi.

By “Epstein files”, the bill means that all the documents, investigative materials, communications, and unclassified records should be disclosed, along with any details that were learned during meetings and interviews with Ghislaine Maxwell.

Just recently, she posted a long message on the social media platform X to her supporters. In the detailed report, she reiterated that she is a very happy person and would never consider taking her life or harming herself.

She warned her constituents that if something were to happen to her, they should immediately start investigating which “foreign government or powerful people” executed the attack. She further stated that if something does happen to her, it would be done in an effort to suppress “the information” she has from becoming public. Then, she cryptically added, “The People understand what I’m saying.”

Greene thinks she will specifically be targeted because she’s joining together with democrats over this issue. In fact, a recent joint press conference where bipartisan members came together was one of the largest press conferences in recent history.

Sex Crimes in New York

In New York, sex crimes are taken extremely seriously. Sex crimes encompass a wide range of behaviors like forcible touching, sexual abuse, rape, nonconsensual sexual touching, and sexual conduct against a child.

Typically, getting convicted of a sex crime will wreak havoc on a person’s life. Not only will the individual be subject to criminal consequences that will likely include jail time and financial fines, but they will also face penalties after they get released. This special class of offenders must register as a sex offender even once they serve their time in jail. The public sex offender registry will list your name, address, and previous conviction. You will likely be required to stay away from certain areas and occupations, too.

To avoid these consequences, the best thing you can do is hire a solid criminal defense attorney to help you avoid a conviction. Here at the Bukh Law Firm, our team is prepared to advocate and fight for you.

According to reports, 27-year-old Shane Tamura has been identified as the shooter responsible for the mass casualty event. The suspect had reportedly started having headaches when he was playing high school football in Southern California. Those headaches never went away and became increasingly worse as the teen grew into an adult.

According to reports, Tamura was desperate for medical help with his headaches. He was allegedly prescribed several medications and even given injections to ease the pain, but nothing was able to stop his debilitating headaches.

Investigators now believe that Tamura believed he had CTE, a degenerative brain disease, stemming from repeated head trauma during his football days. During one involuntary mental stay, the suspect told his doctors that he felt his medical condition was caused by a lack of safety gear and equipment while playing sports as a child. CTE can only be diagnosed after a person has passed away.

Due to a note found in the suspect’s wallet, investigators believe he had a grievance against the NFL and was attempting to reach the NFL’s headquarters on July 28th. The note also asked doctors to investigate whether he had CTE after his death.

On July 28th, the suspect entered a Manhattan office building and began indiscriminately shooting at workers as they got off an elevator. Four individuals were fatally wounded in the attack. Then, the suspect got onto the elevator and rode up to the 33rd floor, where he fatally shot himself as well.

One brave lobby greeter, 39-year-old Andre Morris, is being praised for his quick thinking, which saved at least eight individuals during the incident. According to reports, the lobby greeter was getting water at his post when he heard at least 10-15 gunshots ring out. He didn’t see any gunman, but he did see bullets ricocheting and smoke. He immediately called 911 and alerted other staff about what was happening over the radio.

Morris then grabbed eight workers who were scared for their lives and led them into a closet. He turned off his radio and kept everyone quiet. Morris and one other person held the door shut until they heard police on the other side.

Shooting Crimes in New York

A mass shooting event is one of the most serious crimes a person can commit, so it makes sense that New York State law allows a penalty of life in prison for this type of offense. If the suspect is charged on the federal level, however, then they could potentially face the death penalty.

If you have questions or concerns about a shooting charge in New York, then it’s important to speak with an attorney as soon as possible. You can get in touch with our team here at Bukh Law Firm, P.C. to learn more about your rights and options.

The discovery was made just a few hours after the child’s father contacted police to report her kidnapping.

Investigators say that the minor’s father called police around 9:58 P.M. on Saturday, June 19th. 45-year-old Luciano Frattolin told police the last time he saw his daughter was at Lake George while they were fishing together.

He also suggested that she was abducted by someone in a white van. An Amber Alert was immediately issued, noting that the girl was in imminent danger of being harmed or killed.

As the police searched for the youngster, other investigators began questioning Luciano. They learned that Luciano and his daughter were both residents of Canada but visiting New York on vacation. They also found multiple “inconsistencies” within the timeline of events leading up to the youngster’s disappearance.

Soon, the investigation was handed over to the state police, who promptly determined that there was no indication of an abduction.

Authorities ultimately discovered the youngster, now identified as Melina Galanis Frattolin, about 30 miles away in Ticonderoga the following day. Forest Rangers discovered the victim hidden under a log in a shallow portion of a pond. An autopsy revealed that she passed away as a result of asphyxia from drowning, and her death was ruled a homicide.

Frattolin was arrested and charged with both second-degree murder and the concealment of a corpse. He is being held at the Essex County Jail. During an initial hearing, he pleaded not guilty.

Second-Degree Murder in New York

In New York, an individual can be found guilty of second-degree murder when it’s determined that they caused the death of another person intentionally or recklessly. This crime is the most serious type of felony, classified as a Class A-I. A conviction could result in a life sentence behind bars.

The only charge more serious than this one is first-degree murder, which also includes the factor of planning out the crime and premeditating the murder. There are multiple types of murder-related charges that are less serious, though, including manslaughter, aggravated manslaughter, and criminally negligent homicide.

If you ever get caught up in a legal situation where you could potentially face charges related to the death of another person, then it’s critical to contact a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Don’t delay in seeking out representation, especially considering the severity of the charges.

An attorney will quickly get to work in helping you identify your best options and informing you on how to best navigate your situation. They’ll help you work towards potentially reducing your charges or crafting a solid defense strategy to secure a not guilty verdict.

Without the help of an attorney, you could face the most serious penalties possible in your situation. Use your one shot at justice wisely, and contact a lawyer.

What started as small protests quickly devolved into chaos and violence, with the protests now lasting for over six days.

The situation in Los Angeles has escalated to such a degree that Mayor Bass has ordered all citizens to obey a curfew that runs from 8 P.M. until 6 A.M on the night of June 10th.

Anyone who does not obey this order is subject to being arrested. So far, the Los Angeles police have been making mass arrests for five days straight.

The danger of the situation was highlighted live on TV when an Australian news reporter was covering the situation. The reporter, Lauren Tomasi, was reporting on the stand-off when things suddenly and “rapidly deteriorated”. LAPD officers were riding on horseback and firing rubber bullets at the protesters when one of those bullets struck the news correspondent in the leg. The reporter can be seen yelping in pain before getting back to her job reporting.

Since that incident occurred, the protests have only escalated further. President Trump made the decision to send out over 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to help protect federal property and personnel.

The military is not authorized to make arrests, but they are there to help support LAPD as they continue to apprehend offenders.

Crimes Related to Rioting

According to social media posts, some provocateurs hope to spread these protests further across more states. This “No Kings” movement is set to bring protests to other major cities, including potential demonstrations in New York state.

It’s important to understand that citizens do have the right to peacefully protest, but they can incur several types of criminal charges when they engage in violent, reckless, or tumultuous behaviors. In New York, similar types of protests can lead to charges like rioting in the first- or second-degree, inciting a riot, unlawful assembly, disorderly conduct, or criminal anarchy.

These charges range in severity. Inciting a riot, unlawful assembly, and riot in the second degree are all misdemeanors, but first-degree rioting and criminal anarchy are serious felonies. Disorderly conduct is typically the least of these charges and only amounts to a civil violation.

Criminal anarchy is levied when a protestor advocates the overthrowing of the current form of government by violence. First-degree rioting is levied when at least ten or more people engage in intentional violent and reckless conduct, which creates a risk of public alarm and causes injuries or substantial property damage. A felony conviction will carry lifelong consequences, like a total loss of your right to vote or possess firearms.

Considering what’s at stake, it might be best to consult with an attorney before joining any No Kings protest. You’ll also want to immediately contact an attorney if you get charged with any protest-related crime.

In fact, he has been listed as one of the FBI’s most wanted criminals since 2018. Upon being placed on this list, the FBI offered a $20 million dollar reward for any information leading to the criminal kingpin’s capture.

Now that he’s in U.S. custody, prosecutors are seeking out the death penalty.

Quintero first captured the attention of United States law enforcement agencies when he gained status in a Guadalajara cartel. He became the leader of this branch before joining the Sinaloa cartel, the largest drug trafficking organization in the world. He quickly became known as the “Narco of Narcos,” and became a heavy transporter of heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana across South America and into the U.S.

As a result of his gang and drug related activities, Quintero caught the attention of DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena. At some point, the suspect’s profitable marijuana plantations were hit by a drug raid, and the gang blamed the DEA agent Camarena for coordinating the hit. In an act of alleged retaliation, Quintero plotted out the murder of Camarena, who was heavily tortured before he passed away. This 1985 slaying is the same death that’s dramatized in the recent Netflix series “Narcos: Mexico.”

The suspect is pleading not guilty to all charges, while federal prosecutors mull over the possibility of seeking out the death penalty in this case. Even if the death penalty isn’t sought after, Quintero’s charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of life in prison if he’s convicted.

Currently, the suspect’s family has declined to hire legal representation for Quintero. He will continue to receive court-appointed legal representation.

Gang Related Crimes

In general, any criminal charges you face will ultimately be upgraded if it’s determined that the actions were motivated by a gang or related to gang activity. For instance, when you’ve been accused of committing a felony offense and a judge or jury determines the crime was committed for the benefit of or at the discretion of a criminal street gang, New York gang enhancement laws allow an additional prison sentence to be added to your sentence. With misdemeanor charges, gang involvement is typically seen as an aggravated factor.

Aggravated factors lead to longer sentences, higher sentencing ranges, and harsher overall penalties.

All that said, it’s imperative that you seek out quality legal representation if you’ve been accused of committing a crime in New York and there’s a chance that it could be perceived as gang related. Byrne was a beloved member of the department who was tragically killed by a drug dealer while he was inside his car.

Bryne, who was only 22 years old at the time, was on guard watching the home of a protected witness back in 1988. The witness was set to testify in a drug dealer’s criminal case. Unfortunately, Bryne was fatally shot through the passenger side of his vehicle.

Now, some of the police who were on duty that night have decided to come together and save up enough money to restore the vehicle. The goal, according to the department, is to re-install the car at the Police Academy in Queens. Displaying the vehicle helps teach newer officers and reminds older officers about the dangers of the job.

Right now, the estimated cost of the restoration effort is around $30,000. The officers want to keep the bullet hole in the passenger side door as a symbol of Bryne’s sacrifice, but they need to repair some damage that occurred while the car sat in an evidence warehouse for about ten years.

During that time, the car was damaged by both the floodwater from Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and a fire in 2022. The damage and time have resulted in the patrol car’s paint fading to a light blue. It’s also caused the roof to become rusty, which resulted in it caving in. The tires are worn away by being dragged, and the car no longer runs. During the fire, the car’s taillights melted.

The officers hope that restoring the old patrol car will serve as a tribute to the NYPD’s commitment to upholding the memory of fallen offers and respecting the sacrifices made by the department.

Ultimately, the four killers who coordinated and pulled off the murder were caught and imprisoned. Those suspects are Philip Copeland, Todd Scott, Scott Cobb, and David McClary. Todd Scott later admitted to police that his job was to distract the officer while he sat in his car as the other three suspects pulled off the murder. Each of the suspects were reportedly given $2,000 for the contracted murder. Each suspect was ultimately handed down a sentence of 25 years to life.

Scott Cobb was released in 2023 after serving 34 years behind bars. Todd Scott was denied parole in 2024, but all of the three others are currently eligible for parole.

New York Parole Rules

Parole allows inmates who’ve demonstrated good behavior in prison to get released early, with a few conditions. When you get released on parole, you typically have to report to a parole officer regularly and follow specific rules until your sentence is complete.

Are you wondering whether you might be eligible for parole after serving several years? Do you have questions about parole conditions or potential parole violations?

The two suspects, Dimitriy Nezhinskiy and Juan Villar, allegedly conspired with each other and additional people who were not charged to receive and purchase stolen property. This property included things like watches, handbags, and jewelry.

The scheme also involved luxury items that were stolen outside of the state of New York and transported across state lines. Once the items were secured by the two suspects, they’d utilize a New York pawn shop in the diamond district to sell the stolen goods.

Investigators allege that many of these luxury items came from as far away as South America. Court records argue that Nezhinskiy and Villar would serve as fences for burglary crews who came from South America, committing burglaries all along the way. The group of thieves reportedly would target wealthier neighborhoods and jewelry vendors while making their journey up to New York.

Court records show that Nezhinskiy is a Georgian national who lives in New Jersey. Villar lives in Queens. It’s alleged that the criminal organization the two suspects participated in is comprised mainly of foreign nationals. The entire group works together to steal, transport, sell, and share profits. The criminal group, the South American Theft Groups, and other crews were financially supported by the two suspects, encouraging them to continue their illegal operations.

Nezhinskiy has been directly connected to Bryan Leandro Herrera Maldonado, a serial burglar who was convicted of committing at least 16 residential burglaries across the U.S. between 2019 and 2020.

Evidence compiled by prosecutors reveals that phone records and video surveillance also connect Nezhinskiy to a burglary crew that struck Joe Burrow’s home. Authorities have linked Joe Burrow’s burglary to a ring of “crime tourism,” also connected to Nezhinskiy according to prosecutors.

When law enforcement agencies executed the search warrant on the suspect’s pawn shop, they uncovered countless high-end stolen watches, jewelry, and other items. They also recovered large quantities of cash and marijuana. Authorities then searched the suspect’s storage units, where they uncovered even more luxury goods, clothing, sports memorabilia, artwork, and power tools.

The two suspects face up to 10 years in prison each if convicted of the receipt of stolen goods.

Have You Been Accused of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property or a Similar Crime?

In New York, it’s a serious crime to be in possession of stolen property. This crime is divided into five categories based on the severity of the offense and whether you knew the property was stolen. Criminal possession of stolen property in the 5th degree is the least severe charge you could face, which is still a Class A misdemeanor that could result in up to a year of jail time. 1st degree criminal possession of stolen property is a Class B felony, which could result in up to 25 years in prison.
