The family of a 16-year-old Long Island girl says she was raped in Brooklyn. It all began on March 10, 2026, when a 16-year-old girl from a tight-knit Orthodox Jewish family in Nassau County (Long Island), New York, took an Uber.
The ride was allegedly arranged/ordered via the man she had been communicating with on Snapchat.
The driver dropped her off alone in Bushwick, Brooklyn, without verifying her age or ensuring she was with an adult , which violates Uber’s policies on unaccompanied minors (drivers are supposed to check IDs for riders who appear underage and generally not transport minors alone without a special teen account).
The Assault and Threats
Once in Brooklyn, the girl met 26-year-old Ralfy Figueroa. Police say Figueroa had been pressuring her for weeks. He allegedly threatened her, saying he knew where she lived and would hurt her family if she didn’t meet him.
According to court papers, Figueroa forced the girl into sexual acts in his car, filmed it, and threatened her with guns.
The family says she was so traumatized that she is now getting mental health treatment out of state. Her mother told the court that if the videos ever became public, her daughter said she would kill herself.
Figueroa has been arrested and charged with first-degree rape. He was already in a special program for young offenders after a previous drug arrest.
