According to reports, the football player was enjoying a meal with two other Gang Green players at Sei Less, an Asian-fusion restaurant. Patrons of this restaurant confirmed that there are often several celebrities who visit the eatery, so it wasn’t too out of the ordinary that Boyd and other football players chose the spot.

Unfortunately, sources say that Boyd could feel that the “vibe” inside Sei Less was “off.” One of the main things making Boyd and his friends feel uncomfortable was that several other large groups inside the eatery were verbally arguing with each other. Due to the uncomfortable situation, Boyd and his friends decided to leave.

Upon exiting the building, Boyd and his friends became engulfed by a giant crowd. The streets were packed, and suddenly, two gunshots rang out. It remains unclear whether Boyd was the shooter’s intended target or not, but he was critically wounded in the attack.

Investigators later obtained security footage of the incident. The video clearly shows a vehicle with Michigan plates rushing out of a parking garage and then slamming into a barrier. That’s when a passenger inside of the vehicle started opening fire on the crowd. A second car also followed the first vehicle through the barrier before both cars fled.

One thing that has had an impact on the investigation is Sei Less’s unwillingness to cooperate with police. The restaurant has been unwilling to share security footage with the authorities, but they also have good reason for not doing so. Since so many high-profile individuals often eat at the restaurant, it’s Sei Less’s duty to ensure that their privacy remains a priority.

While the gunshot wound left Boyd in critical condition, he is regaining stability. Boyd was already on the Jets’ injured reserve after getting a shoulder injury pre-season, so it’s unlikely that this recent incident will impact future games.

Discharging a Firearm in Public in NYC

Anyone who frequents the streets of New York City knows how crowded it can quickly get, even at 2 A.M. on a Sunday. That said, it’s always dangerous (and a crime) to discharge a firearm in public, unless it’s for self-defense purposes. Discharging a firearm in public can be levied as either a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the circumstances.

A misdemeanor charge, which is typically used when no injuries happen and no one is endangered, will result in a sentence of up to one year in jail and fines of up to $1,000.

Willfully discharging a firearm at a vehicle, object, or area that puts another person at risk is a serious felony. This crime is punishable by up to seven years in prison and fines of up to $5,000.

When injuries occur, the situation can escalate even further. That said, it’s always best to hire a lawyer if you find yourself charged with a firearms-related crime. Schedule a free call with our legal team now by leaving your contact details on our online form.

Since then, his family, friends, and community have been advocating for the firing of the officer who pulled the trigger.

Just recently, the New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch made the decision to allow that officer to keep his job despite him being found guilty of first-degree assault regarding the incident. According to the Police Commissioner, the officer in question was “justified” in shooting Feliz because he believed his partner was in life-threatening danger.

This argument stems from the police officers’ recounting of the fatal incident. Back in October of 2019, the offending officer was working with two of his partners, Edward Barrett and Michelle Almanzar, when they saw Feliz driving without wearing a seatbelt. The trio went to make a routine police stop.

After he was pulled over, Feliz produced a license that belonged to his brother. His brother’s name came up with three warrants for his arrest, so at that point, the offending officer and Officer Barrett asked Feliz to step out of the car. Afraid, Feliz instead attempted to drive off. That’s when the offending officer attempted to shoot his taser at Feliz.

The shooting officer got into the vehicle and threatened to shoot Feliz. A physical struggle ensued as Officer Barrett attempted to pull Feliz out of the vehicle. The car started to lurch forward.

The offending officer later recounted that he was afraid his partner Barrett was about to get run over by the car. In a split second decision, he shot Feliz.

Now, Feliz’s relatives have decided to file a lawsuit in the Manhattan Supreme Court. They’re requesting that the commissioner’s decision not to fire the offending officer should be voided. They’re additionally requesting the immediate firing of that officer, which was the recommendation given at his assault disciplinary trial.

The city has up to 20 days to respond to the claim.

According to local attorneys, this is an extremely rare case. Most lawyers have never heard of a family or advocacy group attempting to overturn a police commissioner’s decision in a disciplinary matter. Some lawyers are wary about whether the legal tactics will be successful, but Feliz’s family’s legal representative says that employees regularly utilize Article 78 proceedings to challenge disciplinary verdicts.

Understanding Your Rights and Responsibilities During a Traffic Stop

Police officers only have the legal authority to use deadly force when the response is necessary to protect their own lives or their partner’s lives. If you’ve ever felt like your legal rights were violated during a traffic stop, then it’s a good idea to get in touch with an attorney as soon as possible about your case.

Here at the Bukh Law Firm, P.C., our team of criminal defense attorneys is prepared to listen to your situation and help you determine whether your rights were respected during a recent police interaction.

If not, then we’ll help you take the appropriate steps to ensure justice is served. Schedule a free call with us now by leaving your contact details on our online form.

According to the governor, the suspect is in custody, but he is not being cooperative with investigators. He has not confessed to the crime. In contrast, Robinson’s family, friends, and romantic partner are all cooperating with the FBI in its investigation. The governor also confirmed the ongoing rumors that Robinson’s housemate and boyfriend identifies as transgender going from male to female. He further stated that this fact may or may not be tied to the motive, which police are still working to uncover.

During the interview, the governor also stated that Robinson regularly entertained leftist ideology that left him “deeply indoctrinated.” The 22-year-old grew up in a conservative household but had a very different perspective from his family.

Friends and family members told authorities that Robinson had become increasingly political over the past few years.

Governor Cox implied that social media and algorithms likely played a massive role in “radicalizing” and “indoctrinating” the suspect. In the interview, he went on to explain how social media directly impacts the younger generation and has become a “cancer” over the past decade.

Robinson was arrested after a few details emerged. For one, he implied involvement in the shooting to a family member. The family member reached out to a friend who then told the police about the incriminating statement. What’s more, Robinson’s father later identified him in FBI photographs of the suspect.

A family member also spoke to authorities and confirmed that they had directly spoken to the suspect about Charlie Kirk coming to the university. During the conversation, Robinson said that Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate.

Utah is a state that utilizes capital punishment, meaning it’s possible for Robinson to get sentenced to the death penalty as a result of his actions.

How to Handle Criminal Charges and an Arrest

Right now, Robinson has made the decision not to cooperate with authorities. As of September 17th, Robinson has not hired an attorney, and a lawyer has not yet been assigned to represent him. Robinson appeared in an initial hearing via videolink. He was wearing an anti-suicide vest and did not speak at all other than to state his name for the court.

Robinson has been charged with felony aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, two counts of obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering, and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child. During this hearing, prosecutors stated they intend to pursue the death penalty.

If you ever get arrested, then your best move is to hire a lawyer regardless of the severity of your charges. It’s never a good idea to face criminal charges without a legal advocate, especially if you’re potentially facing consequences like the death penalty or life in prison.

Misdemeanor theft, for instance, is reported to be happening 60% more often than it was in 2021.

Tragically, over Labor Day weekend in 2025, at least four individuals were fatally wounded, and 31 others were injured in shootings in the city. Just one weekend before Labor Day, between August 22nd and August 25th, six people were killed and at least 24 were injured in similar shootings.

These violent shootings, according to President Trump, must be addressed. The President has told the current governor, JB Pritzker, that he needs to get the violence under control or relinquish control to the federal government. Governor JB Pritzker has been adamant that he doesn’t need federal assistance fighting the crime throughout Illinois, but President Trump has proclaimed the opposite. President Trump has also told the Governor that if he doesn’t curb violent murder rates, he might deploy the National Guard to the city.

This move wouldn’t be unprecedented, considering President Trump has already deployed the National Guard in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. to crack down on crime. He’s also suggested that the military might appear in New York City, Oakland, and Baltimore.

Could the National Guard Come to NYC? Know Your Rights

Under the Posse Comitatus Act, the federal government is restricted in its ability to use the U.S. military for domestic law enforcement purposes. Under most circumstances, the National Guard does not have the legal authority to make citizen arrests unless the state’s governor has explicitly granted them law enforcement powers during a state emergency.

When the President opts to send the National Guard to a city or state, they are subject to the Posse Comitatus Act, which means they only have limited authority. They can’t arrest citizens, but can perform supportive roles like securing areas or controlling crowds. Local police will be the only enforcement agency authorized to make arrests.

There is one important exception to this law, though. The National Guard is authorized to temporarily detain citizens during an unfolding security incident and when local law enforcement officers are not present.

If you’re a citizen in New York, then it’s important to understand the law and your rights. Already, a federal judge has ruled against President Trump’s use of National Guard Troops in Los Angeles earlier this year, saying that it was a violation of federal law. Right now, courts will be filing an injunction to stop the President from committing similar acts in the city moving forward.

Considering the Governor of New York doesn’t agree with the National Guard deployment, it’s unlikely he would declare an emergency and authorize them to make arrests.

The incident resulted in three fatalities and left nine others seriously wounded. Now, police are seeking out any information about the incident and the alleged culprits.

Authorities were first made aware of the incident when they received a frantic 911 call around 3:30 A.M. The caller told the 911 responder about the shooting, and police rushed out to the Taste of the City Lounge. Once they arrived, authorities discovered approximately a dozen injured individuals. Emergency responders declared one 19-year-old deceased at the scene. Everyone else was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. A short time later, two other victims, one 27-year-old male and one 35-year-old man, were declared deceased.

Once they spoke with witnesses, detectives confirmed that the hookah club was packed when the gunmen opened fire. The deceased 19-year-old apparently got into a verbal dispute with the deceased 35-year-old.

Witnesses told police that the 35-year-old is a suspected member of the Folks Nations gang. During the altercation, both individuals pulled out their weapons and began shooting at each other. Two other unidentified men also took out their guns and started shooting, too. Patrons immediately panicked and fled, many of them getting struck by bullets on the way out.

Over 42 shell casings were collected at the scene, including multiple bullets from a .9mm and some from a .45 caliber weapon. The deceased 27 year old appears to have been an innocent bystander who was simply caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Many other innocent victims were shot. The oldest injured victim was 61 years old.

Authorities later said in a press conference that they believe the shooting was gang-related. They also said they recovered at least one ditched weapon near the scene that they believe was used in the attack.

Discharging a Firearm in New York: What to Expect if You’re Charged

If you get charged with discharging a firearm in New York, then you could face serious penalties. Being involved in a shooting, even if it doesn’t result in injuries or property damage, is still considered a class a misdemeanor. This type of crime could result in a sentence of up to a year in jail. When that shooting endangers someone else, it’s immediately upgraded to a class D felony. This could result in a prison sentence of up to seven years.

If someone actually is injured or killed in the shooting, then you could face very serious repercussions. Both assault with a deadly weapon and manslaughter are considered felony charges.

It’s also important to note that any crime that’s committed in New York with the added element of being gang-related is automatically treated more seriously. Being gang affiliated is considered an aggravating factor, which could impact potential bail and your ultimate sentence.

According to reports, 27-year-old Shane Tamura has been identified as the shooter responsible for the mass casualty event. The suspect had reportedly started having headaches when he was playing high school football in Southern California. Those headaches never went away and became increasingly worse as the teen grew into an adult.

According to reports, Tamura was desperate for medical help with his headaches. He was allegedly prescribed several medications and even given injections to ease the pain, but nothing was able to stop his debilitating headaches.

Investigators now believe that Tamura believed he had CTE, a degenerative brain disease, stemming from repeated head trauma during his football days. During one involuntary mental stay, the suspect told his doctors that he felt his medical condition was caused by a lack of safety gear and equipment while playing sports as a child. CTE can only be diagnosed after a person has passed away.

Due to a note found in the suspect’s wallet, investigators believe he had a grievance against the NFL and was attempting to reach the NFL’s headquarters on July 28th. The note also asked doctors to investigate whether he had CTE after his death.

On July 28th, the suspect entered a Manhattan office building and began indiscriminately shooting at workers as they got off an elevator. Four individuals were fatally wounded in the attack. Then, the suspect got onto the elevator and rode up to the 33rd floor, where he fatally shot himself as well.

One brave lobby greeter, 39-year-old Andre Morris, is being praised for his quick thinking, which saved at least eight individuals during the incident. According to reports, the lobby greeter was getting water at his post when he heard at least 10-15 gunshots ring out. He didn’t see any gunman, but he did see bullets ricocheting and smoke. He immediately called 911 and alerted other staff about what was happening over the radio.

Morris then grabbed eight workers who were scared for their lives and led them into a closet. He turned off his radio and kept everyone quiet. Morris and one other person held the door shut until they heard police on the other side.

Shooting Crimes in New York

A mass shooting event is one of the most serious crimes a person can commit, so it makes sense that New York State law allows a penalty of life in prison for this type of offense. If the suspect is charged on the federal level, however, then they could potentially face the death penalty.

If you have questions or concerns about a shooting charge in New York, then it’s important to speak with an attorney as soon as possible. You can get in touch with our team here at Bukh Law Firm, P.C. to learn more about your rights and options.

What the gentleman didn’t know was that three men were lurking nearby, ready to strike.

As the victim exited his car, three males jumped him. One of the males flashed what the victim described as a black firearm, while the other two men grabbed at a bag the victim was holding. According to investigators, that bag was filled with around $12,500 in cash.

The three men jumped into a car, which the victim described as a white Lexus. The men took off toward River Avenue. The victim called the authorities who are still investigating what happened. Anyone with information related to this incident can anonymously report their information to Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.

Tips are extremely useful in police investigations, and they have contributed to the 23% drop in robberies in the Bronx’s 44th Precinct. Statistics show that there were 40 more robberies in the same period of time last year than there have been this year so far.

The victim was not harmed in the robbery, which took place just two blocks away from Yankee Stadium. Investigators were able to obtain photographs of the suspects. The suspects are all described as being in their late 20s and around 5’7” to 5’10”. One of the men was spotted wearing a green mask with black spots and a dark blue or black hoodie.

Robbery in New York

In New York, robbery charges are often complex. The severity of your situation typically depends on a variety of factors like the value of the stolen goods, any aggravating factors like violence or using a firearm, and your personal criminal history.

The most severe charge you could face is robbery in the first degree, which is categorized as a violent class B felony. This type of crime comes with a minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum sentence of 25 years. Robbery in the third degree, while less serious, still comes with substantial penalties. This class D felony could result in a minimum of 2.75 years in prison and a maximum of 7 years behind bars.

If you have a prior record or your case involved aggravating factors, then expect your sentence to be increased. Unfortunately, getting convicted of a felony offense has lifelong consequences even after you serve out prison time. Convicted felons are barred from legally possessing firearms, voting, or holding public office.

The only way to prevent these consequences is to avoid being convicted. To increase your chances of a favorable legal outcome, it makes the most sense to hire a quality criminal defense attorney who can help you navigate your situation. The right lawyer will be able to develop a customized legal strategy based on the facts surrounding the alleged crime.

Once they arrived at the scene, officers recovered the victim from Reynolds Channel. The victim, who is thought to be between 15 and 20 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators immediately got to work attempting to identify the suspect and piece together what happened. Very little is known about the victim, who investigators believe may be Black or Hispanic.

He is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs around 130 pounds. On the night of his passing, he was wearing black cargo pants with a beige T-shirt saying “ARCH”.

The county medical examiner’s office performed an in-depth autopsy of the victim, and what they found was startling. The office concluded that the victim passed away as a result of being beaten and stabbed. He did not drown and was likely already deceased by the time his body was dumped in the body of water.

On April 25th, Nassau County officials declared the death a homicide. The incident is now being investigated as a murder.

Anyone with more information about the victim or the incident is being asked to call the Nassau Police homicide squad at (516) 573-7788.

How to Handle Being Investigated by the Police

In mysterious situations like the situation above, investigators don’t have much to go on, so they might try to rely on conducting intensive interrogations to learn more about what could’ve happened. If you’re being questioned or investigated by the police, then it’s necessary to understand your rights and options.

For one, you have the right to request an attorney’s counsel before moving forward with answering any questions. Consulting with a lawyer is an important step because your attorney will make sure you don’t incriminate yourself while also holding the interrogators accountable for their duty to uphold your rights. The right lawyer will also help you defend yourself from any baseless accusations or charges.

In general, it’s best not to make any statements without talking to your lawyer first because any statements you make can be used against you in court. It’s also best not to consent to any searches or seizures before talking to an attorney unless the authorities have an official search warrant with them.

If you are not under arrest, then you have the right to leave a questioning session but always comply with officers if they tell you that you are being detained. Simply assert your rights and ask for a consultation with a lawyer.

Are you worried that you could potentially be investigated for a crime in the near future? If so, then it’s worth your time to get in touch with an attorney to get a full overview of your rights and options. An attorney can also help you prepare and know what to expect if you do get called in for questioning or you get arrested.

According to reports, the incident occurred on April 12th at around 10 P.M. 28-year-old Frank Liu was allegedly confronting Neo Secaira, a 17-year-old, at the Love of Christ Presbyterian Church about his romantic involvement with “Sarah”. While it’s unclear what exactly was said or if words were even exchanged, the 17-year-old was shot in the chest.

Then, Liu turned the weapon on himself and fatally shot himself in the head.

Medics rushed the victims to the New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, but neither one survived.

This incident is still under investigation. Adding to the mystery, the building’s superintendent told authorities that Liu had just recently returned to the area and moved back in with his parents after living in North Carolina for a few years. Just a few days prior to the shooting, Liu’s building superintendent said he saw Liu return home with a younger woman who looked like she was only 19 years old. The two seemed to be laughing and having a good time. The superintendent said that the two also looked like they could be dating.

Neighbors said that they often heard fighting coming from the apartment where Liu lived, but many neighbors expressed that they thought the fighting came from the parents rather than Liu. The parents had a history of domestic issues.

Neighbors of the 17-year-old were shocked and dismayed by the killing, expressing how the adolescent was a great kid who worked a lot and attended school. He was also known to work on vehicles and was a member of the local high school swimming team.

Consider Your Legal Options

If you’ve ever felt like you were in an extremely desperate situation, then you know it’s important to consider your options rather than making a rushed, permanent decision. Even when you’ve committed a serious crime like murder, you still have important legal rights, and there are ways to cope with what’s happened.

Consider contacting a quality, local attorney to discuss your situation in more detail if you’ve recently been accused of a crime. Regardless of the severity of the situation, it’s your lawyer’s job to minimize your legal consequences by considering all your potential defense strategies. Your attorney will also ensure that your rights are upheld throughout your case.

In early November, a 37-year-old woman fell victim to an attack when she was violently shoved onto subway tracks in a Harlem train station.

Police say that the woman had been waiting on the A train platform, headed towards Brooklyn on November 5th at around 10:50 P.M. Investigators believe the suspect grabbed the woman by her hair before aggressively slashing her face with a razor blade. He then threw her down onto the subway tracks. Authorities believe the suspect then ran out of the station.

The horrific attack was only compounded by the fact that no one was around to help the victim. Thankfully, no train was entering the station at the time of the attack, and the injured woman was able to pull herself up and off the tracks. Since no one was around, the woman had to transport herself to the nearby Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital. There, she was treated for her injuries, and she reported the incident to the police.

Investigators looking into the attack discovered surveillance video footage that showed a 5-foot-9, 185-pound man with dreadlocks and a beard running out of the station around the time of the attack. Upon closer inspection, police were able to identify the suspect as 29-year-old Michael Blount.

This individual was recognized by the police because he’s a known offender in the area. Back in 2013, Blount was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl, performing a criminal sex act, and robbery. This conviction resulted in a seven-year prison sentence. He was released in 2020, and his parole was meant to last until 2025. He was also a registered sex offender at the time of the attack, so police were able to use recent photographs of the suspect to compare to the video surveillance footage.

Now, authorities are seeking to track down Blount, who is on the run.

Subway Station Attacks and Violence

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in random, violent attacks on subway stations in New York. It’s important to understand that a subway attack would likely be considered assault, and if a weapon was used, like in the case above, then that would be charged as assault with a deadly weapon.

In New York, the penalties for a conviction of this crime will lead to a jail sentence of anywhere from five to 25 years depending on the circumstances. You could also face fines of up to $5,000.

Another factor to consider is that attackers can also be held financially responsible for their actions, too. A criminal conviction could require offenders to pay up to $15,000 to the victim in restitution depending on the severity of their injuries, losses, and the overall impact of the crime.

In general, the best way to manage criminal charges is to consult with a legal advocate about your situation. If you’re in New York or a nearby area, then our office can help.

Schedule a consultation call with our team now to discuss your legal situation in more detail with one of our lawyers.
