Ed Mullins is a disgraced former head of the NYPD sergeants’ union who was recently exposed for his ongoing theft of thousands of dollars from the organization. As part of his plea deal arrangement, it’s expected that Mullins will face somewhere between 2 and 4 years in jail as well as pay significant financial penalties.
In August, Mullins will be sentenced. On July 21st, he reportedly reached out to a judge who will likely preside over his case. He asked the judge not to send him to jail despite him admitting to stealing from his former fellow officers. Right now, Mullins is 61-years-old. His legal team argues that he is already suffering as a result of his actions and that he will never be able to seek out a law enforcement career again.
