According to reports from Prosecutors, P. Diddy made multiple phone calls while incarcerated where he asked family members to contact victims and witnesses. What’s more, he specifically asked these individuals to create “narratives” to influence the jury pool in Diddy’s favor. Diddy also reportedly asked these individuals to engage in specific marketing strategies to potentially sway the public’s opinion and perception of his arrest.
For instance, he asked his family members to create specific videos for social media to celebrate Diddy’s birthday and invoke sympathy for him from the public.
Prosecutors believe this behavior shows that Diddy wanted his family members to blackmail victims and witnesses into either being silent or providing positive testimony in the case.
This recent behavior isn’t a good look for Diddy who reportedly began to immediately break the rules as soon as he was detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He’s also already being charged with silencing victims through blackmail and violence. The fact that he displayed this type of behavior while incarcerated is significant evidence against him.
As a result of the seriousness of the charges and Diddy’s behavior, two judges have agreed that Diddy is a danger to the community and a flight risk, so he hasn’t been granted bail. When Diddy’s lawyers attempted to request bail again, Prosecutors specifically cited Diddy’s recent behavior as proof that he needed to remain behind bars.
